As I sit down to write a comic book review of the story titled “The Black Knight” featuring Iron man, published in Tales Of Suspense #59, I find that this story (despite a later cover month) would clearly fit before the events of Avengers #9. That small fact out-of-the-way (and the impact on the avengers title is only one panel that would be less understood) I can get on to my synopsis, and review.
in this issue, after seeing the avengers off to a charity benefit, Iron Man stays behind to keep watch over the city. At the same time The Black Knight bust out of jail, and decided to get revenge on the avengers – starting with the one he knows how to find, Iron Man. This assault starts before our hero can make it back to the factory. In fact as, tony is walking in, the factory under sedge by the black knight, we also witness Tony Stark suffering from a power attack, causing him to have to retreat to his office, while scaring Pepper and Happy.

Iron Man In Mortal Combat With Captain America!
April 10, 2014 | Drew | (No Comments)
In this Iron Man feature, One month before Captain America becomes the regular co-feature of Tales Of Suspense we have the two Heros face-off against each other in a battle of hero’s true to the comic book style of the time. In this issue, the Chameleon convinces Iron Man, that Captain America is the Chameleon. Sending Iron Man off to face the real Captain America. Sound confusing? well, take a gander over the issue and it will all make sense. (more…)

The Iron Man story from tails of suspense # 57 is the first appearance of Hawkeye. You may not know -the now famous Avenger- started out then as an adversary for Iron Man. With motivations rooted in jealousy, and an attitude that’s more selfish and egotistical than selfless, is how Hawkeye debuted.
It’s more than just his character that leads him down the path to face off against Iron Man. But a twist of fate and a chance meeting with the Black widow – and already established Iron Man arch nemesis. She through her beauty and seduction, takes the selfish -and possible hero to be- Hawkeye and leads him to face-off against Iron Man. With Hawkeye having high hopes of earning black widows love, a new character and a now long established connection was born. (more…)

In this issue, we get to see a side of iron Man’s alter ego Tony stark, that I do not recall seeing yet. We have seen him as the Rich playboy inventor; but we have as of yet seen him depressed. This issue starts off with him in a fit of self pity, over having to wear the chest-peace to keep his heart beating, about having to live his life with the two identities caused by the accident. This leads to an angry and depressed tony stark, to decide to hang up his suit, retire as Iron man, and lead as much of a normal life as possible, even in the face of the avengers having a need for their golden hero. Fate has a funny way of working on comics though, as the new menace, the Unicorn is seeking out to attack the stark factory, even while Iron Man/ Tony Stark is not around to defend it. (more…)

A Special Bonus Featurette
All About Iron Man
August 27, 2012 | Drew | (No Comments)
This is not a comic book review in the normal way, as I see these few pages in Tales Of Suspense as a bonus section designed to give us more information and background on Iron Man and his supporting cast then a comic story. In fact, there is no story in this extra bit, but what follows is there:
- a visual description on how Iron Man suit’s up.
- A diagram of the key features of the Iron Man costume.
- an explanation as to the limits of his powers.
- a reason for why he keeps from getting serious with any of the woman who are after him.
- Why Happy never smiles.
- a Pepper Potts Pin up, with loads of information!
These few pages, is something I would suggest any fan of the early iron man stories glance over! it was a lot of fun.

I could not wait, after reading Tales Of Suspense #54, I had to follow up with part II right away. Today’s comic book review is of The Iron man feature titled “No One Escapes The Mandarin” from Tales Of Suspense #55. but how can they follow up the last issue? how can Iron Man escape let alone save the day? When we last left him, the prospect o even surviving was quite grim.
Then what about Happy and Pepper, how are they managing back home? This issue’s feature story addresses all of that before it is over. (more…)

For this comic book review I read the Iron Man feature from Tales Of Suspense #54. this story was titled “The Mandarin’s Revenge” and serves at the first part of a two-part story.
In this tale, Tony Stark goes to Vietnam to investigate the cause of some of his missiles malfunctioning, only after some careful thinking does he concluded that the Mandarin must be responsible and sets out to find a way to stop him. But does part one of this epic battle live up to all my hopes? (more…)

Tales Of Suspense #53 is the second appearance of the Black Widow, and coming just one issue after her first, making this story a true follow-up to the events of Tales Of Suspense #52. This issue, however focuses in more on her character as the central antagonist, then the last one did, but does that alone make it worth reading? Check out my review to find out what I think of “The Black Widow Strikes Again!” from Tales Of Suspense #53. (more…)

Can the cover be right, can the hero gone good, the crimson Dynamo turn against Iron Man, and what of this new menace, the black widow? all these questions are addressed in Tales Of Suspense #52, the comic book that I read for this comic book review. But before I even start writing all the reasons you should read this issue, I would strongly suggest that you read Tales Of suspense #46 before starting this incredible follow-up, even if this issue does do a good job recapping those events early on. for today’s comic book review I read The Iron Man story published in Tales Of Suspense #51, titled “The Sinister Scarecrow“. In this issue, we have the origin of a new, and strange menace known as the Scarecrow, whose life of crime leads him right into the path of Iron Man as he robs tony stark’s house. But can iron man defeat an opponent whom may just be the strangest he has ever encountered? (more…)
