That is right, you read the cover right, likely after looking at the stunning image of Captain America standing there, and his shield deflecting fireballs from the human Torch.  The cover indeed does say, im the big White and Yellow letters just what you think it did. “From out of the Golden Age of Comics into the Marvel Age, Captain America Returns To Challenge The Human Torch!”

It is the kind of cover, that would make anyone who had an inkling of an idea of the old great hero want to thumb though the comic magazine and see just what happens.  So As such, todays comic review is for The story titled “Captain America*

I do not feel that this story needs any further summery then what the cover and what I already said offers,  that in this issue we get to see two legendary characters, together at last*.

*To understand the asteric, read the issue

      Story

While, I do believe just what was said at the end of the issue, that the story was a test, I feel as one it was well executed.  We have heroic action like none other, where the feeling of what is at stake is even greater

But as a story goes, it features, hero worship like none other, kind of like what would happen if a super hero meets the hero he idolized growing up.  This is just what happens, or so it seems when Captain America burst on the scene and shows up in Glenville.

But at the same time we get to see the same classic Hero Vs. Hero* Action that we have come to live, as he and the Modern Human torch face off.  But as for why the two hero’s are clashing, you will just have to read the story. it is a strange tale that is well worth your time.

      Artwork

I feel Jack Kirby put his best foot forward in drawing this issue, Perhaps he really just liked drawing Captain America Again, after the years of him being gone.  But time and time again Jack Kirby shows us why he was called “The King of comics”  You just have to take a look at his work, and this issue is another fine example of it.

If you just look at the pictures that I have opted to include for this issue, you can see the greatness of the work,  for example the image of Captain America leaping into action, with the human torch flying behind him seeing the legend for the first time.  The sky’s are blue, the people are surprised, and the heroes are brought to the forefront of the panel. it  also offers great use of foreshortening in particularly for Captain America.

      Originality & Continuity

I do not recall seeing many stories like this one int he past, making it seem quite original and unique.  It also fits in with the ongoing continuity that was established for the human torch tales in Strange Tales.

      Character & Development

In this story the human torch does get to be both a Fan, and the one person investigation what seems to be clearly wrong with a great classic hero. In such we get to see a bit into not only his mind, but that of countless others at the prospect of Captain America going bad.
