For the last of the series  ‘Tales of the Watcher’ backup stories in Tales Of Suspense we have a five page story titled ‘The Watcher Must Die’ . In this story, we witness an armada led by warlord Wrogg confront the watcher on a remote asteroid.  Believing that the watcher can not be as powerful as legends suggest,  he lands and approaches… what happens next? well, you will have to read to find out if the watcher lives on, or if this tale foretells the death of the watcher!  I won’t be spoiling the fun short for you.

What I will say, is it is five pages of the tension being built, leading to an interesting conclusion, with an original but since reused ending.

    1. Do you think Stan Lee is The Watcher with all his cameos in the MARVEL movies? Maybe (since he’s getting so old) when he dies they’ll make a movie out of this story!!

      • I have seen that idea floating around, and even had some discussion about it with my friends. On one level, i like to think that Stan Lee could be playing the watcher, being around, and in a way witnessing the biggest events of the marvel cinematic universe (and even the other movie universes, as the watcher does not have to be bound to just one). A movie featuring the watcher, perhaps tying together the appearances? I think that would be some time off if it comes,

now a biographical story about the life of Stan Lee, or even the history behind marvel? I suspect that will come someday. While not about Stan Directly, but marvel comics, there is a particularly good book by Sean Howe titled “Marvel Comics: The Untold Story” that I would recommended people read.
