The Avengers Meet Sub-Mariner!

March 9, 2012 | Drew | (1 Comment)

For today’s comic book review I read Avengers #3,  In this issue we have Namor, the Sub-Mariner, in his first appearance scene Fantastic Four Annual #1.  But in this issue he does not face the Avengers alone, instead he acquires the assistance of the renegade and hunted Hulk to improve his chances of success against the surface world.

This issue also have an all-star cast, showing us almost every active hero In the marvel universe, even if only for a few short frames. We have the Fantastic Four, The X-men, and even Spider-Man making a showing in the first few pages, as the Avengers call out for help in locating the hulk. but to no surprise it is Rick Jones and the Teen Brigade that is the real help in locating him.  But Finding the Hulk is the easy part, and when he teams up with Namor, can even the Avengers stop them?

Strange Tales 110

I should start by saying in Strange Tales #110, the Human Torch began sharing the pages of this volume with another marvel legend, Dr. Strange, and you can read the review of his Strange Tale at this link.   This is a review of “The Human Torch Vs. The Wizard And Paste-Pot Pete!“. where before I even begin reading it i ask myself,  can The Wizard at last have a good story?

Our tale begins off with an editors warning and I will quote it all for you here:

Warning!! if you have ha weak heart, don’t read this story! for when the Human Torch pits his fiery weapons against that evil genius of crime, The Wizard, and his new partner, Paste-Pot Pete, in a titanic struggle, defeat means death for the Torch!! there are no holds barred, so hold your breath for here we go!!

Fantastic Four #14
The Merciless Puppet Master

Fantastic Four #14

What can possibly be better than a story hinted at on the cover,  the fantastic Four coming face to face under the sea with the Sub-Mariner while he is holding the invisible girl prisoner.

I won’t leave you waiting to wonder on that one, as adding the Puppet Master to the mix is one thing that can indeed make what appears to be the makings of a good story even better.

it is almost hard to believe this is one, cram packed issue, but is there too much to it? or are there enough pages for this story. or will this story prove not to have the depth to be great? (more…)

Fantastic Four #6
Captives of the Deadly Duo

September 16, 2011 | Drew | (No Comments)

At long last, I return to the Fantastic Four with Fantastic Four #6. While it may see like it was a long wait, it was nowhere near as long as the 2 months that people in 1962 would have waited for this September issue.

Two issues ago, they reintroduced the Sub-Mariner.  Last issue they introduced Dr.Doom.  Now, in just one volume both threat’s are back, and working together to put a stop to the Fantastic Four.
