Meets The Angel!
For today’s comic book review I set out to read and review the Iron Man story from Tales Of Suspense #49. Hoping for an action pack story, filled with everything one could want, and even from the cover I knew that Iron Man would be up against another hero, X-men’s Angel. Leaving me to wonder the why’s and hows. but by the time I got finished, i was left with just one burning question. What where they thinking?
But before I get into that let me give a short summary of the story, The Angel gets to close to an atomic test at one of Tony Stark’s weapons plants, and despite Iron Man’s best efforts to ward him off takes a strong blast of radiation. The Radiation changes The Angels mind, making him evil, and now Iron Man has to stop him. (more…)

The Mysterious Mr. Doll
For today’s comic book review I read Tales Of Suspense #48 where The New Iron Man Battles… The Mysterious Mr. Doll, in a “Book-length Marvel Masterwork!”. But is this issue, that reveals an all new Iron Man a classic or just an old relic? and what of the less than ominous sounding Mr. Doll? is he a menace that invokes fear, or just a sad excuse for a real nemesis?
to summarize the story, Mr. Doll has been somehow making the richest men in the city sign over fortunes and companies to him, going from one wealthy industrialist to another. Our story picks up, on the last one before he goes after Tony Stark, interestingly enough, as Tony is on route to see him. Leading to the first encounter between Mr. Doll and Iron Man, one that our hero almost does not survive, struggling with both the mysterious menace and his own internal failing heart. (more…)

But does the Melter make a compelling super Villain? Is Iron Men doomed to go down the drain? or can our hero save the day, even against a foe who can turn his iron armor into nothing but liquid and scrap? (more…)

Well that is exactly what I felt like when i sat down to read “Iron Man Versus Kala, Queen Of The Netherworld!” From Takes Of Suspense #43 for my comic book review. In this case, I can’t help but feel every aspect of the plot has been taken from another story, some even from Iron Man’s Origin.
Here is a synopsis of the story: a vain and evil queen of an underground empire decided that she is going to invade the surface world. In order to accomplish this task, she kidnaps the one brilliant mind she needs to help her in the task, Tony Stark. The Stronghold of Doctor Strange
OK, let me get this out-of-the-way before I go any further In this Iron Man story we have Doctor Strange. However this Doctor Strange is not the Doctor Strange you may think he is, that Character by the same name had not yet made his mark on the comic book page in May 1963, He would appear just two months later though in July of 1963 in Strange Tales #110. I will review that book for you in a few weeks so stay tuned. This Doctor Strange portrayed as a diabolical genius, and evil mastermind. and his much unlike the magical, mystical character that would come soon after this issue to the marvel universe.
Now on to review Iron Man’s story in Tales of Suspense #41, titled “The Stronghold of Doctor Strange!”. But lets begin by quoting the issue itself, i think that makes a good introduction:
Realizing that the struggle between good and evil is a no-holds-barred duel to the death, Iron Man risks all to stop the most evil villain in history! prepare yourself for electrifying suspense as the mighty night in shinning armor invades
