- Jack Frost
- Pepper Potts
For Today’s comic book review i read the Iron Man story from Tales Of Suspense #45, it was titled “The Icy Fingers Of Jack Frost!” and much more important than seeming like a good comic book to pick to review for this december week, is that this story introduces us to Pepper Pots and Happy Hogan.
a short synopsis of the action part of the story can be summed up in a few short words. After A scientist working for stark tries to steal his secrets, stark has him fires but opts not to arrest him, but the scientist is far from done with his life of crime, developing a new technology that gives him amazing freezing powers he strikes again.
There is much more to the story then that short synopsis though, it has great depth with the introduction of Happy Hogan, and Pepper Pots is put in as an already existing character in Tony Stark’s life, but still introduced quite well.
The action part of the story however is a bit on the dry side and i did not warm up to it as much as I did the character development and introduction’s early on.
I did not feel that the art of this issue was done all that well, except for the character design for Jack Frost, that I felt was superb. beyond that though i felt that the artwork of the issue was a bit less than average.
Originality & Continuity
I can not help but feel that Jack frost shares just a little too much in common with a DC Comic book character named Mr. Freeze. and i cant help but feel that their similarities may even be greater than I realize.
While I feel this issue loses points for originality, I have to give it something for building upon the existing Continuity.
Characters & Development
Happy Hogan and pepper pots
Pepper Pots is also introduced, but not given nearly the attention that Happy is, instead it seems her purpose is more to offer a bit of a love triangle and create an extra dynamic so that happy does not just end up being like a sidekick.
Tony Stark and Iron Man
He is our star, and he grows in this issue, realizing that he is far from being able to accomplish everything on his own, and thus hiring Happy as a body-guard & chauffeur.
