After reviewing the story from Strange Tales #126 that featured Dr. Strange, I found my self all to eager to read the second part; to bare witness to the conflict between the Doctor and the Dreaded Dormammu. In fact, in the early pages of this adventure, we learn that this Duel does come with a high cost, win or lose. We already knew from the last adventure, that if Dr. Strange lost, Dormammu intends to invade earth. It is in these pages that we learn that if Dormammu looses, that his realm will face great danger from the mindless ones; Thus putting Dr. Strange in the mental realm of not just a hard, but complex ethical conflict, even before the magical duel begins.

The Domain Of the Dread Dormammu
While yesterday I established that the first tale from Strange Tales #126, left me lacking; today we explore the Realm of Darkness and face off against Dormammu himself with none other than Dr. Strange. This story starts off, with The Ancient One summing Strange just a short time after the events of the last story, then informing him of Dormammu’s plans, as relayed from a messenger sent by the Dormammu himself. What we have here, is Doctor Strange needing to take up a quest to another dimention to save earth from a great and powerful threat. (more…)

But in this story, as an exhausted Dr. Strange drifts off to sleep, Nightmare gains the chance he has waited for, to imprison Strange without his magic or powers. Return To The Nightmare World
The second tale that I reviewed today from Strange Tales #116 is Dr. Strange’s tale, titled “Return To The Nightmare World” and in this mystic story we have a feature length thriller that is reminiscent of the first appearance of Dr. Strange back in Strange Tales #110.
In this tale, we have nightmare trapping people in their sleep into the nightmare dimension so that they never wake up. Thus it is left to Dr. Strange, to do what only he can, stop nightmare and rescue the sleeping victims so that they can awaken. (more…)

The Birth of Giant-Man
For today’s comic book review I read the story in Tales To Astonish #49 titled “The Birth of Giant-Man” and this story offers perhaps the greatest development and change for our ongoing Ant-man and the wasp stories so far, giving Dr. Hank Pym the choice to be ant-man or to double his size to 12 feet and become Giant-man.
But the story offers us more than just the new development by the brilliant scientist; Although I am happy to say that the development is given significant page space instead of just being seen in action. You see, while Dr. Pym is working on this, a new menace known as the Eraser has shown up on the scene, and is on some kind of mission of erasing key scientist. What seems like it might be some kind of communist plot, expect for the fact that the Eraser is clearly not human. But what can his goal be? (more…)

The Mysterious Molecule Man!
For a story that has it all, from Yancy Street and a member of its gang to The Watcher Uato you need to look no farther than Fantastic Four #20. The story “The Mysterious Molecule Man!” is one that has begun to raise the bar of what we expect in epic future of the Fantastic Four!
to summarize the story, the Watcher warns the Fantastic Four of a new threat, the Molecule Man, just moments before they are to do battle with him, Letting them in on his origin, but is it enough for them to defeat a foe that could likely destroy universes. (more…)

the mighty Thor! Battles Sandu Master of the Supernatural!
After my Comic book Review of Journey Into Mystery #90 yesterday, I had to follow it with issue #91 today. after such a bad review, I had to know right away if the Thor story from April 1961’s was better.
To start was the artwork of Joe Sinnott more enjoyable than that of Al Hartley yesterday? Then did this issue also have a good plot and story? all important question’s after following an issue that had a good story but bad art.
But before even reading the story, the cover did a good job of getting me enthusiastic about the content and story. Just look at it, it is a bit awe-inspiring and detailed. so we where off to a good start.

Prisoner of the Slave World!
Today my comic book review is of The Astonishing Ant-Man!,Prisoner of the Slave World From Tales To Astonish #41. Starting this review, I do find myself at a loss for word, It had alien’s, it had scientific kidnapping, it had Time and dimensional travel. but did it have the heart and soul of a good story?
When it comes to the reading of it, I can’t help but feel I read this same story before, with Thor in Journey Into Mystery #87 only aliens instead of communist. but did this one have enough differences to stand out? was it a good read? Or does this Ant-man Tale just not measure up to my expectation’s of our hero.

Prisoner of the 5th Dimension
Strange tales #103 where the human Torch is the prisoner of the 5th dimension, was a well written, and fairly well drawn story. This time, the little care needed to explain why he is investigating this alone is taken.
just 1 panel, greatly helped this story fit in with a level of acceptability with the other Fantastic Four stories. everything from there falls into place.
