For this comic book review, i have read the Dr. Strange feature from Strange Tales #121 titled “Witchcraft In The Wax Museum“.  In this tale we see Doctor strange given a nine page feature to face off once again against the evil Baron Mordo, but in this battle the fate of Doctor strange’s life seems to be at stake, as he has but 24 hours to find and reclaim his own body for to die.

I feel that some of Steve Ditko’s finest work was on Doctor strange, and this issue is no exception.  Here we have the creative use of color’s shadow’s and lines to give us the mystical feeling that we expect from these features.

In prior issues I feel Steve set up this style, but now he holds true to it,  giving the reader an experience in just the art alone, and his art works quite well to telling the story that accompanies it.

Characters & Development

This issue offers little in the way of new development for ether of the character’s instead it works to firmly ground and establish there moral and magical standings. This is something that I feel was to the benefit of this issue; as it never hurts to restate and build upon what we have already seen.  But perhaps it is time to see Doctor strange face something new again; as thus far he has faced the Baron or Nightmare in most of his adventures.

Originality & Continuity

while I am getting tired of Baron Mordo, I do feel that this story works well in the ongoing development of the feud between our hero and his primary antagonist; and as such I strongly suspect that we will see lots of the Baron in the future.

Story

This story feels to me like a good classic Doctor Strange tale, and one that I would recommend to anyone to read, it only takes a few minutes of your time, but it will surely leave you with something to think about for a while.
