Yesterday I read Tales To Astonish #50, and seen how The Human Top humiliated Giant-Man, Today I read the second part, to see if Giant-Man and The Wasp could stop the human Top.

In this issue, we have a continued effort to catch the top, as he engages in a plan to steal US secrets to sell them to communist spies.   during these efforts our hero’s fail to stop the spinning menace,  but can they stop him before the plans fall into the wrong hands?

Story

This story had some flaws, partly in following the last, but mostly all on its own.  Such as how the Top was caught,  I am not saying it does not make sence, but when you look at the things that we’re going on right before it, it just does not fit. without spoiling it, I will let you read the story and think about it.

The other flaw is in the fan club, Sure I believe any super-hero would have a fan club, but one with A secret identity being found at their secret lab?  I could be wrong, but I bet this gets swept under the rug and never talked about again.

Artwork

I feel Jack Kirby did a great job with this issue, the action was crammed packed and the feeling of motion never-ending.   It was still not perfect, but it was done quite well.

I included a panel showing the wasp helping try to stop The Human Top, by blasting him with water from a hydrant.   I feel this panel does a great job of showing the detail to both the foreground and back in this issue.

Originality & Continuity

having just read the prior issue yesterday, I can tell there was some gaps in the continuity.  By the end of last issue, The Human Top intends to get rid of Giant-Man before Giant-Man can get him, and we are lead to believe that the plan with the explosives has something to do with that.  This issue, seems to drop the ball on that fact, and it seems to me to be a major plot point to drop.

Also I talked a bit about this above, the Fan club, finding them, This to me seems like a Major Hole that would lead me to believe that these teenagers had found out the hero’s identities some how.  After all, how else would they go into Dr. Hank Pym’s lab sure there going to find Giant-Man and the wasp?  I bet this gets dropped like it never happened, but I will go far as to say, it never should have happened. If they wanted the hero’s identities to be discovered that would be fine, but at least address it!

Characters & Development

This issue, does seem so serve a point of showing Giant-Man that he can’t just rely on his size to stop crime, but needs to still use his mind,  but would a man who first became Ant-man, who was a scientist well before being a super-hero likely need such a reminder?
