After the events of the last issue, Doctor Strange returns to Earth. Unbeknownst to Baron Mordo and Dormammu, he checks in on the Ancient One. While trying to help his master heal, Strange hears murmurs about Eternity. Intrigued and desperate for understanding, he uses his abilities to search for any references to this mysterious entity. Unfortunately, this search leads to him being discovered, with Baron Mordo pursuing him in spirit form. Their chase escalates to the heart of the sun itself, a perilous confrontation that threatens to destroy them both.
Where is Dormammu during all of this? Surprisingly absent. And for that, we have the “Girl of the Dark Dimension” to thank.
Story
The story is heating up—and not just because we’re heading into the sun! The pieces are falling into place, and the moves are being made in this epic tale. It’s written in a way that keeps me clamoring for the next installment. How does it manage that? In every way imaginable. The pacing, the tension, and the unfolding mystery all work together seamlessly.
Characters & Development

Doctor Strange is regaining his strength, which he uses to protect his allies and uncover pieces of a mystery he didn’t even realize existed. Eternity—who or what is it? (I suspect you know, but for readers of the era, it’s an exciting buildup to the big reveal.)
Dormammu, meanwhile, struggles to maintain control of the Dark Dimension while fixated on his vengeance against Doctor Strange. And let’s not forget the “Girl of the Dark Dimension”! She proves pivotal to the narrative, capturing our imaginations even if it’s only a few panels at a time. This issue, however, she finally gets to share the spotlight with our hero.
Originality & Continuity
The story continues to feel fresh, building on the foundations laid in earlier issues. The return of the Mindless Ones adds another layer to the intricate web being woven. Everything is tightening, escalating, and drawing us deeper into this magical saga.
Artwork

When you read this issue, take a moment to compare the panels featuring Doctor Strange in a rainy New York to those of him in spirit form interacting with the Ancient One. Notice the psychedelic, otherworldly depiction of the Dark Dimension and the “Girl’s” travels within it. Finally, marvel at the dynamics of space and the heart of the sun. In a single issue, we’re treated to such a range of art and style—it’s nothing short of impressive.
This issue of Doctor Strange masterfully balances story, character development, and stunning artwork to keep readers on the edge of their seats. From the mysterious whispers of Eternity to the high-stakes chase into the sun, every moment feels purposeful and thrilling. The narrative builds on its foundations while introducing fresh twists, like the pivotal role of the “Girl of the Dark Dimension” and the return of the Mindless Ones. All in all, this is a must-read installment that leaves us eagerly awaiting the next chapter in this magical saga.
