Strange Tales #135:Eternity Beckons

In this adventure, Dr. Strange seeks more information on Eternity from Sir Baskerville, a former student of the Ancient One like himself. He travels to Castle Baskerville, hoping to find an ally and the answers he seeks. Unfortunately, the person he meets is no friend—he is an agent of Mordo, secretly plotting to betray Strange and aid in his downfall.

Mordo, meanwhile, is still reeling from Dormammu’s reduced support. Dormammu, distracted by his own troubles, has cut back the power he once funneled to Mordo. These troubles stem from a mysterious girl—seen only in flashbacks—who sabotaged his efforts in Strange Tales #134.

Story & Art

This issue stands well enough on its own within the larger arc, offering readers a glimpse at one of Dr. Strange’s failed attempts, even if they haven’t followed the story so far. That said, it truly shines when read in context with the ongoing saga. The drama that has been steadily built, the small threads that have been woven in, and the splintering of the plotlines all come together to keep us hooked.

For those of us in 2025, the luxury of collected editions and Marvel Unlimited makes it easier than ever to read the entire arc. And so far, I’d say it’s been well worth it.
